1. Dr Philip Ugbodaga FWACS
Dr Philip Ugbodaga is the Chairman of the Health Support Initiative (HSI). He is a fellow and life member of the West African College of Surgeons and a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. A Civil Rights Activist and former Student Union leader, he has held many positions within the medical profession rising to become the 1st Vice President of the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD) in September 2005 and the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Edo State in South-South region of Nigeria in July, 2010.
He is a Board Member of the Policy and Law Reform Centre in Nigeria and the National Chairman of the Coalition to Save Nigeria (CSN) which he convened in 2012 to oppose Nigeria government’s increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) which he rightly envisaged would lead to a further impoverishment of the rural people with consequent decline in health indices in Nigeria.
He is a patron of the University of Benin Detachment of the International Red Cross and the Chief Cleft lip and palate Surgeon at the Central Hospital and Aniso Specialist Medical Centre both in Benin City, Nigeria ( in partnership with Smile Train) under whose auspices hundreds of free surgical repair of cleft lip and palate has been carried out on indigent patients. All these have brought succour and joy to the hearts of the parents of these children.
2. Dr. Wilson Ovienria
Dr. Wilson Ovienria is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and a Consultant Opthalmic Surgeon at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH) in Nigeria.
He is an astute academic and clinician and has led many medial missions in resource poor rural communities in Nigeria performing many Opthalmic surgeries in the process.
He is currently the Head of the Department of Opthalmology at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Nigeria and an active member of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) and the Nigerian Medical Association.
3. Dr. Osarobo Ehigiator
Dr. Osarobo Ehigiator was educated at the University of Benin, graduating with a BDS in 2000. He has a Part 1 fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria following a postgraduate training at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. He also bagged a Masters of Science degree in physiology from the university of Benin. He worked as a resident doctor in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital and until recently was a lecturer at the department of Oral Diagnosis in the school of dentistry, Univeristy of Benin. He is currently in Canada for further studies. He has led in various associations and professional bodies. He is a humanitarian advocate and a strong believer in community service and volunteering.
4. Racheal Ugbodaga
Racheal Ugbodaga is a microbiologist and graduated from the prestigious Ambrose Alli Univeristy in Nigeria and has been involved in volunteering and community service for many years. She believes that healthcare is a fundamental human right and has devoted her talent, time and resources to caring for the disempowered in society over the years. She has been involved in mobilizing support and care for children in orphanage homes in Nigeria. She is currently a software analyst with the ICT department in the government house in Edo State, Nigeria.
5. Jude Obasanmi
Jude Obasanmi is the President of the Conference of Non Governmental Organizations (CONGOs) in Edo State, Nigeria (a coalition of over 100 NGOs/CSOs/CBOs & FBOs).
He is a teacher in the Department of Economics, College of Education, Igueben, Nigeria and has a BSc Hons degree in Economics (EDSU, Ekpoma), Master in Business Administration (UNIBEN, Benin City), Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto), Appreciation Certificate in Computer Science (FRAG, Benin) and MSC in Economics (AAU, Ekpoma) and currently a PhD candidate in the same university. He is Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigeria Nuerolinguistic Programmers and Partnership 4 Peace, Nigeria.
In the area of community development initiatives, Obasanmi Jude is the Chief Responsibility Officer in Josémaria Escrivia Foundation (Formally JOCRANET) a frontline NGO in Nigeria.
